Numerical and Experimental Study of Drag and Vortex Shedding across Smooth Circular Cylinder with Attached Rigid Bilateral Splitter Plates in Sub-Critical Regime for Landing Gear
Main Article Content
Abstract
Circular cylinder with attached rigid bilateral plates is a new concept that has not been explored by many researchers. In this research work, smooth circular cylinder with attached rigid bilateral plates has been experimentally explored from Reynolds Number 4.78x104 to 1.35x105 in sub-critical regime. Accuracy of results of this research has been assured by comparing the results with corresponding published data and by performing error analysis relative to interference of wall shear layers. The results of this research are in terms of co-efficient of pressure (Cp) and co-efficient of drag (Cd). Results of circular cylinder with attached rigid bilateral plates are very promising across sub-critical regime.
