A Novel Model for Quality Evaluation of E-Commerce Websites

Abstract

There are different kinds of websites including E-learning, informational, Databases and business oriented etc. Web based and E-commerce are interrelated to each other. Information and communication technology ICT are becoming more powerful in economic sector as they have globalized world’s business. Online market shows its importance to both academia and business circles. There are not only advantages but some serious challenges for organization and consumers as well. Hacking, theft and lack of quality measurement are major issues for E-commerce as most of the websites are developed using ad-hoc approaches. A novel approach towards quality evaluation method is an objective for this research. For E-commerce (B2B) websites there is a deficiency in rigorous approach for quality evaluation model as most of the quality models are based on customization of ISO 9126. Methodology for proposed model is ‘mixed-mode’ comprising of survey’s, interviews and experts views. Data collected from these modes is analyzed by using MS-excel and SPSS. Proposed quality model is beneficial for business community. Outcomes of this research will be helpful in E-business to strengthen competition and increase financial performance. Existing literature supply does not have commonly agree-upon standards. So this model will be helpful in evaluation, identification of strengths and weakness of E-commerce websites.
