Simulation Model for Vehicular Traffic Flow at Intersection of Road to Reduce Traffic Congestion
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this research work, traffic flow congestion was analysed using PTV VISSIM. Initially, a visual survey was conducted to collect the Traffic volume data for modelling. To investigate traffic management at a city junction, a simulator is employed for vehicle traffic at road intersections. The simulator provides graphical and visual explanations for each traffic parameter at the proposed junction. It serves as a fundamental model for simulating traffic at intersections in city crossroads. Various traffic scenarios are simulated using the suggested PTV simulator. This mathematical model creates different simulation objects. The conclusion drawn is that modifying the intersection with modern systems, incorporating different underpasses and signals, leads to a reduction in traffic flow. The paper offers a brief overview of the technique employed in the procedure and applying modern improvement on intersection.
